My name is Liz Ellis and I am a graduate of James Madison University with a major in art. I am now able to have time to spend on painting since retirement. I live in Virginia with my husband Gary, my dog Stoli and 3 cats from our local SPCA. I have always been involved with animals either through my jobs or volunteer work. Animals have been a very positive influence in my life. I love the outdoors and gardening, and that also is reflected in my art. I do paint still lifes, and landscapes, but my true love and the most fun for me is the animals.
Over the past several years I have won awards in art shows throughout Virginia. I received 3 peoples choice awards in 3 consecutive years in our county. I do commissioned work regularly for animal portraits. I work mostly in acrylics, but also in pastel.
